Aug. 1	National Board Certification Information Meeting, CTA, 9-11 am	CTA Hires Executive Director At a specially called CTA Board Meeting, June 15, 2009, directors voted unanimously to appoint Nicholas L. Whitman to the position of CTA Executive Director. Nick, as he prefers to be called, will report for duty in Hillsborough on August 10 after completing his responsibilities as executive director for the Racine Education Association in Racine, WI. After earning his BA in History, Summa Cum Laude, at the University of Wisconsin, Green Bay, Nick went on to earn a Juris Doctorate at the University of Wisconsin Law School. Personal interests include all things Irish/Celtic and travel, having already visited forty-six of our fifty states as well as Mexico, Aruba, Scotland, England, and Ireland. Nick is very excited about this new opportunity and is anxious to begin working with CTA members and staff.

FEA ESP Scholarship Provides incentive and financial support in the form of scholarships to Education Staff Professional members to pursue additional academic training needed to obtain necessary skills and/or credentials required for promotion or advancement in the field of public education. Any Education Staff Professional member who has been a member in good standing of an FEA local for at least three years shall be eligible to apply. There shall be ten scholarships of $1000.00 each awarded. All application materials must be submitted in hard copy by Monday, August 31, 2009. Materials must be received at the FEA office by 5:00 p.m. and may not be submitted electronically or by facsimile.
